To equip and encourage people in all areas of life to live Kingdom First every day of every week of every year
When Jesus began his ministry, he had a single, passionate and compelling message: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the good news." This message he would preach everywhere he went. His disciples would preach it as he sent them out. Paul would spend his last 2 years in prison preaching it. At the very heart of the Christian faith is the Kingdom of God.
At Redemption our vision is to build a community of people who take the Kingdom of God seriously in their everyday lives. In fact, so serious that they live Kingdom First all the time in all relationships, vocations, decisions and plans. How do we equip and encourage them to do that? For that matter, what is living Kingdom First?
Three foundational actions rest at the heart of what it means to live Kingdom First. We call them Pillars. Each Pillar represents a key component to how Jesus lived his life and thus they give us a framework for how we too can live Kingdom First.
Believe The King's Love
At the heart of everything that God does rests his love (Exodus 34, 1 John 4:8, John 3:16, 15:13, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 1:3-10). At the heart of the Kingdom, the King and the followers of the King is God's love. To live Kingdom First is to grow in our understanding and belief of our King's love and to live out of that love.
If the King's love is our confidence, the King's will is our orientation to life. God revealed in the Bible his will for daily living (Ephesians 5:17). To live Kingdom First we learn the King's will and establish our lives around it.
The King did not give his life just so we could go to heaven, but that we might do good (Ephesian 2:10; Titus 2:14). Jesus gave us life that we might share life with others. When we live Kingdom First, we are always looking for ways God might use us to redeem what is around us.
