"But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God" (Luke 18:16)
At Redemption, we want to provide opportunities for our children to learn to worship and come to know Jesus. We want them to know they are loved by God and loved by us.
There are a few ways we seek to fulfill this:
Students who are in kindergarten and above begin in the service with us. This lets them participate in worship and be with adults from whom they can learn to worship.
Students have roles within the service such as being an acolyte or a reader.
We have special services throughout the year where we students have different ways of being part of worship and we offer children's sermons on particular Sundays throughout the year.
During the sermon on most Sundays, students are prayed over and sent to Sunday school during the sermon to receive an age- appropriate message, but return for communion.
For our youngest, we have a fully staffed nursery. These little ones will be watched and cared from the beginning to the end of the service. Each parents is given a name tag that matches their child and must present this to pick up their child in order to protect all our kids.
Protecting Our Children
Every person who works with children at Redemption Church has been background checked and done extensive awareness training in protecting children. Our priority is the safety of every child entrusted to us.
